January 07 - March 31: Winter Life Snowshoe Tour—Leavenworth Fish Hatchery
Join a trained naturalist on a guided tour through a winter trail full of life. Reservations are required, snowshoes are provided. Fridays-Sundays, 1-3pm.
February 01, 08, 15 & 22: Live Music @ South--913 Front Street
Every Friday, South restaurant hosts original live music by local legends Stephen Sharpe and Sergio Cuevas. A brilliant mix of funk, rock, hip-hop, and reggae. 8-10pm.
February 01: Brew Master Dinner at JJ Hills--505 Highway 2
Join Icicle brewing at JJ Hills Fresh Grill Friday, February 1. Featuring culinary works of Chef Bill Monigold paired with brew-master Dean Priebe's finest beers. 4-9pm, $59 per person.
February 1-3: Cascade Quest Sled Dog Race- Lake Wenatchee Recreation Club
A three day dog sledding event where spectators can enjoy a pancake breakfast, meet the sled teams, ride on a dog sled and watch the beginning and end of exciting races. The schedule and costs vary, please see the website for more information.
February 2: Bakke Cup—Leavenworth Ski Hill
Leavenworth Winter Sports Club hosts the Bakke Cup for a kids day of Ski Jumping, Nordic Races and Alpine Events. Registration starts at 8:15am. Races at 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30am. 11am, $10/person or $25/family.
February 2: Tubbs Romp to Stomp out Breast Cancer Snowshoe—Steven’s Pass Nordic Center
Raise funds for Susan G. Komen for the Cure while snowshoeing this 3k or 5k snowshoe walk or 3k snowshoe race. There will also be a Little Rompers Race for kids. Register early for discounted rates. 9am-1pm, Adults $27, day of $42. Kids $0-$27. Premium Registration =$16 includes long sleeve tech shirt.
February 02: Basic Black & White Tech Photography-- Icicle Studios, 11734 Hwy 2, Suite C
Icicle Valley Photography- Learn the basics of exposure and darkroom use with 35mm or 120mm film. Morning session with camera techniques. Afternoon session on processing and printing. Reservations are suggested at reed@iciclevalleyphotography.com. 9am-Noon & 1-3:30pm, $35 per session/$65 All Day.
February 02, 09, 16 & 23: Feel the Flow- Ten Phases Qigong--418 Evans Street
Each class offers full range-of-motion movements (accessible to all) body-based meditation, questions/ answers, and a closing period for deep relaxation. 10:30am-12pm, suggested donation $15 (Feb 16 class will be held at the Senior Center).
February 3: Chicks on Sticks—Icicle Trails at the Leavenworth Fish Hatchery
Join Leavenworth Winter Sports Club for this WOMEN’S only event. This 8km ski event is great for skiers of all abilities and participants can skate, classic ski or snowshoe. Proceeds will be donated to The Wellness Place in Wenatchee. Register early to avoid late fees and before January 25th to receive a t-shirt. 9-11:30am, $15 to $30.
February 05, 12, 19 & 26: Tequila Talks at South--913 Front Street
South restaurant talks tequila. Every Tuesday @ South learn about an agave spirit. Tuesday's equal half off tequila shots & full disclosure on this popular libation. 5:30-6pm, FREE.
February 06 & 13: Wednesday Night Dinner—Ski Hill Lodge
Leavenworth Winter Sports Club hosts Wednesday Night Dinners for club members and families. Head up to the lodge for dinner after night skiing, alpine team practice or the after school program. 5:30-7:30pm, $7.50 Adults, $5.50 Youths, $4.50 Kids.
February 7-9: Cascade School District- Alice in Wonderland--10190 Chumstick Hwy
Cascade School District (Kindergarten through 8th grade) presents Disney’s Alice in Wonderland Junior. Includes 70 students from 3 area schools. 7pm, $3-$5.
February 08: Wildlife in Words and Song-- Barn Beach Reserve
The saga of Washington's Fish and Wildlife in Words, Pictures, and Song: a joyous, light-hearted, musical celebration of Washington's wildlife, presented by naturalist Ken Bevis. 7-9:00pm, Donations accepted.
February 09: Photographing the Group-- Icicle Studios
Icicle Valley Photography hosts a class on making effective images for people oriented groups. Reservations are suggested at reed@iciclevalleyphotography.com. 9-11am, $35 per session.
February 8-10 & 14-17: Red wine and Chocolates—Wenatchee Wine Country Wineries
Wenatchee Wine Country wineries offer two weekends for tasting their great red wines with decadent chocolate treats! February 8-10 &14-17. Check website for specific tasting room hours. Times vary per winery, tasting fees may be charged at some wineries.
February 16: Carnival Day-- Leavenworth Ski Hill
Leavenworth Winter Sports Club hosts Carnival Day. A Leavenworth tradition with activities all day including a BBQ, an Alpine Race, Ski Jump competition, Big Air competition, live music, Rail Jam, and Torchlight Parade and fireworks. 9-6pm, Trail Fees Required.
February 16-18: Winter Fiddle Festival-- Icicle Creek Center for the Arts
The third annual Winter Fiddle Festival is a family friendly event that blends fiddle workshops with a chance for winter fun - like cross country skiing, snowshoeing and sleigh rides. $70-$140 per person, Register Here.
February 16: Barn Dance-- Canyon Wren Recital Hall
Icicle Creek Center for the Arts and the Fiddle Festival presents a good ol' fashioned Barn Dance open to the public. An evening of community dances including square, contra and couples. 7:30pm, $5.
February 16: Bavarian Cup--10701 Ski Hill Drive
Leavenworth Winter Sports Club hosts the Bavarian Cup. Many race distances are available for both skate and classic Nordic skiing. All ages, register day of event. 9am, $5-$20.
February 16: North Country in Concert—Cashmere Community Coffee House
Local Pacific Northwest bluegrass musicians share their hard music in this live concert. 7:30pm, $3 at the door, "pass the hat" for musicians with a suggested donation of $8 to $11.
February 16: The 2013 Leisure Games-- Leavenworth Festhalle
Presented by Icicle Brewing, the Leisure games are comprised of 4 elements: Live Music, Leisurely Games, Icicle Brewing Co Beer & Food. . 3-10:30pm, $15-$20 & $70 (groups of 4).
February 16: Natural Lighting for Portraits-- Icicle Studios
Icicle Valley Photography presents an introduction to using existing light for portraits. Reservations are suggested at reed@iciclevalleyphotography.com. 9:30-11:30am, $35 per session.
February 21: Full Moon Ski—Icicle River Trail
Join O’Grady’s Pantry & Leavenworth Winter Sports Club for this month’s late night ski and dinner specials. Show your season pass or trail pass to receive discounts. 5-8pm, Trail Fees Required to ski, dinner $7.50 kids & $15 adults.
February 22: Amanda Coplin Book Signing—A Book for All Seasons, Leavenworth
Wenatchee native, Amanda Coplin, returns to ABFAS for a Booking-Signing for her new book on Friday afternoon. 1-3pm, FREE.
February 22: Walking on Crystalline Water—Barn Beach Reserve
Barn Beach Reserve hosts Karl Lillquist of Central Washington University as he explores the origins and evolution of mountain snowshoes and snowshoeing. 7-9:00pm, Donations only.
February 23: Annual Hog Loppet—Mission Ridge
A challenging, non-competitive 30K ski trek from the top of Mission Ridge ski area to Blewett Pass. Shuttles to and from the ski areas are available for an additional fee. Online registration closes Thursday 2/21/13 at 12 p.m. 7:30am, $55-$70. Sponsored by us, www.IcicleCreekHomes.com
February 23:Basic Editing II Photography--Icicle Studios
Icicle Valley Photography hosts an intro to editing in Lightroom & Photoshop. Bring your laptop and installed versions of these programs to the class. Reservations are suggested at reed@iciclevalleyphotography.com. 9-11:30am, $35 per session.
February 25:Seed Starting Secrets and Tips with Eron Drew—Barn Beach Reserve
Fun, practical, and supremely useful secrets and tips on how to start seeds for your garden and flower beds. Class members may sign up for an optional field trip to Sleeping Lady/Tierra Garden Organics on Saturday March 2nd. Seed Class will be held in the barn, 6:30-8:30pm, FREE.
