Every Thursday and Saturday in December: Resort Yoga - Sleeping Lady Resort

Thursday, Jan 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30, 2014 at 5:30 pm

Saturday, Dec 4,11, 18, and 25, 2014 at 10:00 AM

A special class has been added Jan 19 at 10:00 AM

Sleeping Lady Resort hosts an Intro to Vinyasa Flow class.  Drop-ins welcome.  Mats and props available for newcomers.   $10


Jan 5th: Ski For Health Day- Leavenworth Winter Sports Club, 10701 Ski Hill Drive, Leavenworth WA 98826

January is "Learn to Ski" month and we are giving free mini-ski lesson which includes Nordic rentals, lesson, and trail passes all free. Lessons start at 12:15, 12:45, 1:15, 1:45, and 2:15.

When coming to Leavenworth for a few days check out the Icicle Creek Center for the Performing Arts for your entertainment enjoyment.

Jan 11 - 12th: Bavarian Cup - Leavenworth Winter Sports Club, 10701 Ski Hill Drive, Leavenworth WA 98826

The Bavarian Cup is a 2-day Nordic Race in classic and skate techniques.  It is a Junior National Qualifier and J3 regional championship this year.  All ages of competitive skiers are encouraged to register online and compete in one or both days.  Spectators are also encouraged to attend.  Stay for a race then try out the Nordic trails, tube park, warm up with hot cocoa in the lodge or snowboard down Leavenworth Ski Hill. Check out the website for times of the races and fees.


Jan 17th: Wolves in the Land of Salmon by David Moskowitz -The Barn at Barn Beach Reserve, 347 Division Street, Leavenworth, WA

Come listen to David, an icon of the wild, talk about wolves and how they capture our imagination ands park controversy. Time 7 pm Fees: $5 members $10 non-members


Jan 18: Wildlife Tracking and Winter Wildlife Ecology

David Moskowitz and Dr Bill Gaines offer a day- long winter ecology and tracking class on snowshoes. Space is limited so sign up early. Time 8-5, Cost: $99 WRI members, $115 non-members


Jan 18th: Skirennen - Leavenworth Golf Course

Come and participate in this Nordic race which is open to the publice and ranges from 2K to 10K. Checkout the website for times and fees. Discount for early enrollment.


Jan 18th - 19th: Bavarian Ice Fest - 800 Front Street, Leavenworth, WA 98826

Come and enjoy a weekend of outdoor events including snow sculpture,tug o'war, and ice cube scramble for kids six and under, and the famous Leavenworth Smoshing Contest (if you don't know what this is you need to come and find out).  You can cheer from the sidelines or jump right in and compete for prizes.  The fun starts on Saturday 9:00 am and Sunday 10:00 am. Fee: Most of it is free.


 Jan 19th: Snow Shoe Demo and KOHO Chili Cook Off - Leavenworth Winter Sports Club, 10701 Ski Hill Drive, Leavenworth WA 98826

It is a busy day at the ski hill with free 30 minute  snow shoe rental and lesson from 10:30 - 1:30.  Also starting at 12 pm Cooking Local’s Isaac Kaplan-Woolner will host a chili cook-off against area pros. The winning chili recipe will be featured on KOHO, and the winner will receive a great prize package.


Jan 19th: Bavarian Ice Festival Ski Movie - Festhall

Come enjoy a movie and  sipping on tasty brews, food, score raffle prizes and raise money for Leavenworth Winter Sports Club! Doors open at 6:30 pm and free movie starts at 7:30 pm.


Jan 24th: A Cate Mighell Mystery: TGIF at the Library - 700 Highway 2 Leavenworth WA 98826

Come  join Cate Mighell for a book reading and signing. Time 7PM

Jan 25th: A book Buzz! Cate Mighell, Kim Anderson and Phil Teller - A Book For all Seasons, 703 Highway 2, Leavenworth WA 98802

Come  meet these authors and have them sign their book. You can win a prize. Time 1-3 pm. Free.


Jan 24-29th: 19th Annual Leavenworth Empty Bowls Glazing Days - Sleeping Lady Mountain Resort - Woodpecker Room

Come paint a bowl! Family Glazing Days (12 and under) Saturday & Sunday only. Glaze your bowls in the Woodpecker Room at Sleeping Lady Mountain Resort.  Soup Supper is March 20. Support the Community Cupboard Food bank!

Time: 10 am - 8pm  Fee: $15 Buys a Bowl & Soup Supper Ticket (50.00 for a family of 4 and 12 for additional members)

 Jan 24th: Nissebakken Tele Race - Leavenworth Winter Sports Club, 10701 Ski Hill Drive, Leavenworth WA 98826

Do you know how to drop a knee for a telemark turn or just like to watch people crash wearing outrageous costumes? ( theme for this event is Star Wars and prices will be awarded for best costume). Head up to the Leavenworth Ski Hill for this telemark event and potluck. Fee: $20 LWSC members, $25 non-members 5:30 - 7:00 PM
