The biggest event this month is of course, Leavenworth's Annual Oktoberfest, but there are lots of other events that go on in October as well.

Village Art in The Park, Downtown Leavenworth

The Pacific Northwest's longest continually- running outdoor art show starts the 2015 season Friday May 2 and continues through October 20th. Thursdays will be added during the month of July and August.  Show hours will be 9 am – 6 pm.

Saturday, October 10*, 17, 24 and 31, 2015, 10:00 am in Woodpecker - Join Joanna Dunn on Saturday mornings at 10:00 am for a Morning Wake Up Yoga (slow - gentle) class. Drop ins welcome. Mats and props available for newcomers.  Check website for updates and special guests.

Adults ||  $12 per class- Pay at Guest Services. 10-punch card available for $108.

 

Oct 3rd & 10th: Leavenworth Lions Community Breakfasts- Lions Club Park, between City Hall and Swimming Pool, Highway 2 Leavenworth, WA

Have fun while the Lions Club prepares your breakfast with eggs, sausage, pancakes, coffee and milk.

Oct 7th - Dec 31st: The Art of the Sleeping Lady Calendar, A Hanging Art Show - 7375 Icicle Road, Leavenworth, WA, 98826

We are hanging some of Heather Murphy's original works from our 20th anniversary commemorative calendar. Come and see her beautiful work, tour the newly remodeled restaurant and sample our new cuisine.

When fishing guide and filmmaker Mark Titus learns why wild salmon populations plummeted in his native Pacific Northwest, he embarks on a journey to discover where the fish have gone and what might bring them back. Snowy Owl Theater.

The Atlanta-based singer/songwriter and band leader has undergone a series of transformative experiences, leading to a second coming for the veteran artist.

Soprano Anna Netrebko's dramatic and vocal skills are on full display in her next new role at the Met - Leonora, the Verdi heroine who sacrifices her own life for the love of the gypsy troubador.

Oct 8th: Where's Rich- Tales from the Pacific Crest Trail - The Barn at Barn Beach Reserve, 347 Division Street, Leavenworth, WA

Rich Brinkman, former Wenatchee River Institute Board Member, parent of WRI Field Day participants, and current college professor, has just returned from an epic 6-month, 2658-mile trek along the famous Pacific Crest Trail (PCT), from Mexico north to Canada.  Along the way, Rich had great adventures, received a coveted PCT trail name, was featured in "The Good Life" magazine, endured this summers intense wildfires, and also raised money for Wenatchee River Institute's Youth and Family Progamming!

Oct 8th: Reel Rock 10 (Film) - Icicle Creek Center for the Arts, 7409 Icicle Road, Leavenworth, WA, 98826

The REEL ROCK Film Tour screens climbing and adventure films to audiences around the world, featuring the raddest sport climbers, off-width-climbers, daredevils and mountaineering maestros on the planet.

Oct 8th: Dinner & A Movie Fundraiser - Sleeping Lady Resort, 7409 Icicle Road, Leavenworth, WA, 98826

Join Sleeping Lady and Icicle Creek Center for the Arts for dinner and a movie. Dine at O'Grady's, between 1:00 and 7:00 pm on Thursday, October 8th and 10% of proceeds will benefit Leavenworth Mountain Association. Then, stroll over to the Snowy Owl Theater for Reel Rock 10.  20% of net proceeds from the film will benefit LMA.

Oct 10th: Historical Walking Tours of Leavenworth - Upper Valley Historical Society, 347 Division Street, Leavenworth, WA,98826

You will visit the Festhalle & learn about the Centennial Quilt's history. Have you heard we used to have car dealerships, theaters, a feed store, Safeway & a dairy on the Front St. block area? Come find out where. The tour will be 1-2 hours & a couple of miles on flat ground. Meet us at the UV Museum!

Oct 10th: Jeff Scroggins & Colorado in Concert - Cashmere Community Concerts, 201 Riverside Center, Cashmere, WA,98815

Come listen to "High energy, high mountain, bluegrass explosion" with powerful vocals, tight harmonies and muscianship to match.

Oct 10th: Kate Dyer-Seeley - book signing - A Book for All Seasons, 703 Highway 2, Leavenworth, WA, 98826

Kate is the author of the Pacific Northwest Mystery Series and the memoir Underneath the Ash. Kate’s work has appeared in a variety of regional and international publications including: The Columbian, The Vancouver Voice, Seattle Backpacker, Portland Family Magazine, and Climbing Magazine.

In this class each student will learn to knit a unique creature with instructor Gayle Holeton. This is a 6 class series: Mondays Oct 12, 19, 26, Nov 2, 9, 16 for Kids 6 & up.
